Material and square footage

Quartz colors are organized into pricing groups. Simple patterns may cost less than dramatic veining or specialty finishes. View a large sample because a small chip cannot show the full movement. Measurements include wall runs, islands, peninsulas, overhangs, and backsplash. Slab planning must also allow for dimensions, pattern direction, seams, and cutouts.

Edges and openings

Thickness and edge profile affect fabrication. Confirm which exposed sides receive finished edges. Undermount sinks, drop-in sinks, faucets, soap dispensers, and cooktops all require accurate openings. Final fixture models should be available before fabrication.

Seams and layout

Long runs, corners, large islands, access, and pattern affect seam placement. Seams may be necessary for safe handling or slab-size limits. Ask where they are expected rather than assuming the kitchen will be one piece.

Backsplash and removal

A short backsplash uses less material than a full-height quartz wall. Waterfall panels and window sills add fabrication. Existing laminate, tile, solid surface, and stone tops require different removal effort. Clarify plumbing disconnection and reconnection.

Professional templating converts secured, level cabinets into fabrication dimensions. Fabrication includes cutting, openings, edges, and seams.
